Create a PowerPoint of an overview of your project. This will be presented as if you are in front of a group of peers explaining how your community education project was planned, developed, implemented, and how the outcomes were achieved and then how you evaluated if your goals were met. Planning: Patients at the ALF were interviewed, the Geriatric Depression Scale was used, they were asked how they felt therer, were they happy, what activities they enjoy, do they have family members/friends who visit. Developed: teaching material was gathered (exercises for the elderly, therapeutic activities for the elderly, etc), sent to print and handed out on presentation day. Implemented: On presentation day, patients at the ALF along with their family members were educated on the signs and symptoms among the elderly in ALF's, also they were educated on fun activities to keep themselves entertained as well as simple excercises they can perform even if they happen to be wheel chair bound. I also included time for Q&A's. The presentation ended with a small and interactive workout to show them how to do these, also introduced pet therapy and the benefits of having a small mascot (in this case they had a small dog), and lastly a few minutes of music therapy to conclude.
